  • Be aware of your baby’s movements: Baby movements will change as they grow bigger and stronger. If you think your baby is less active than usual, do a “kick count”—keep track of the number of movements in 1 hour. If your baby moves fewer than 10 times in an hour, call your doctor right away.
  • Learn about your third trimester antenatal appointments : You will have more frequent antenatal appointment particularly if this is your first pregnancy.
  • Be aware of pregnancy symptoms you should never ignore : Pre-eclampsia is a pregnancy condition that happens when the placenta isn’t working properly. It can happen from 20 weeks of pregnancy, but most likely to develop in your third trimester
  • Stretch regularly, pregnancy-safe stretches helps to relive physical and mental tension
  • Put together your baby items – getting started now will make life much easier after your baby arrives
  • Learn about the stages of labor – learning about labor can help you feel more in control when the time comes
  • Create a birth plan- Things may not go according to your plan, but writing one can help you to make decisions during labor
  • Get to know your contractions – It may help you to distinguish Braxton Hicks from the real signs of labor
  • Pack your hospital bag – Even if you’re not planning a hospital birth, you may need to go in unexpectedly, so get your bag packed well before your due date
  • Get more sleep
  • Stock up on household supplies – Stock up on basics, from tins to tights, before shopping becomes too much of a chore. Cook up extra portions of easy meals to freeze ahead for the early weeks
  • Install your baby’s car seat
  • Be creative about third trimester sex – If you have healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy, you can continue to have sex right up until your waters break or you go into labor
  • Call in the helpers – Don’t feel guilty about taking up offers of favors from friends and family
  • Check out the hospital  – Find out if the maternity unit offers a tour
  • Avoid back ache – Heavy lifting, as it will put a strain on your softened ligaments
  • Prepare for the birth – Make sure you and your partner have all the important numbers on your phone
  • Read up on new-born care
  • Prepare for breastfeeding – Get information on how breastfeeding works and the benefits
  • Eat well
  • Massage your bump
  • Talk to your baby
  • Follow your baby’s development
  • Choose a name
  • Are you overdue and feeling fed up, many mums swear that walking, sex, acupuncture or eating curry kick-started their labor. The long wait is nearly over and before you know it, you would be cuddling your little ones in your arms.
