Baby Shower Games
Games entertained guests. They played The Pacifier Toss and The Tissue Belly. Further, the mom enjoyed playing the pacifier toss. Guests had to stand in a circle and take turns tossing the pacifier to each other. The person who catches it has 10 seconds to name a baby item. Without repeating one that’s already been said. The last person standing wins a door prize.

Favors & Treats

Flaunting her baby bump with utmost grace, the elegant mom-to-be had this to say “I’m so happy to have such great friends in life that are true and real and honest friends. I enjoyed opening gifts from all my friends, and this was the highlight of my day”. “Being a first-time mom, I’m just ready to see my little princess’ face and kiss her” she added.

Congratulations Jazmine, sending best wishes your way.

Baby Shower Games
Guests had a good time and played fun games such as “Guess What’s In The Bag” where people were blindfolded and had to place their hands in a bag full of baby items and guess what it was. The mom-to-be really had fun playing “Taste The Baby Food” where people were blindfolded and had to taste baby food and guess what it was “it was so funny seeing people’s facial expressions while eating the food and hearing the radical answers they come up with” she said.

The fabulous mommy-to-be was happy to see everyone come around and here’s what she had to say “the highlight of my day was seeing all the guests saying something nice about me and giving me advice on how to be a mother. ]]>Gorgeous new mom to a baby girl, Essence Price, shares her bump story. Shares some precious moments from her pregnancy journey with us!
Enjoy!

What was your reaction when you first found out you were pregnant?
I had a strong urge that I was pregnant! We had been trying for a couple of months and I could just feel it in my heart so I told my husband and we went to take a blood test! They called back and said I was a few days pregnant! I almost dropped my phone and started crying but I kept it together and we both were so excited for the journey we were about to embark on
Your funniest memory over the 9 month period?
One of the funniest moments during pregnancy was when my husband got home from work and I ran up to him and tried to give him a bear hug and basically bounced off of him. LOL! Ny belly came out of no where and we both didn’t realize how big I was getting overnight!

For me the easiest trimester was my 2nd. I loved being pregnant and dressing my bump. I loved being able to feel baby girl move inside of me. No morning sickness, my energy was back and I just felt amazing and excited that I was half way through! My 3rd trimester was probably the most difficult. I felt so exhausted and overwhelmed trying to make sure everything was ready for when baby arrived. My daughter was a week overdue and in that last week I was in so much discomfort, and grew impatient I just wanted to meet her already.
Any fashion tips and tricks for maternity dressing?
Dressing up my bump was one of my favorite things to do during pregnancy. I loved carrying life inside of me and showing it off. Confidence and style was so important to me during this time. It’s hard for some woman to watch their bodies change and we start to feel unsexy or unfamiliar with ourselves. Finding an amazing maternity line , or some cute comfy clothes to express yourself in and keep you feeling like yourself is key to helping you enjoy every bit of this amazing journey!

I craved a lot of spicy stuff during the first trimester! I would eat potato chips with hot sauce and also loved fried pickles and cereal! By the middle of the second trimester, I started getting my cravings back for all the foods I normally would want!
The craziest thing you googled during pregnancy?
The craziest thing I googled during pregnancy was whether the eclipse will affect my baby!
What did you struggle with most being pregnant?
I think what I struggled with most while being pregnant was the lack of energy I felt at times. There were days, lots of them where I didn’t even want to get out of bed. I work out all the time and there were days I just could not fathom walking into a gym and that was hard for me to feel unmotivated and just tired. But you soon realize that nothing is more important than listening to your body and doing what’s best for you and your little one.

Any tricks and tips that made your pregnancy journey easier
I loved going out to eat and enjoying time with my husband. That really helped make my pregnancy journey be enjoyable and go by so fast. I loved getting massages, and mani/pedis! Basically, treat yourselves and enjoy every bit of you-time!
I was 41 weeks when I went into labor with my baby girl. I labored at home because I was only 1cm dilated and was scheduled for an induction at midnight that night. So they sent me home at 11:30 AM on Friday. I labored at home from then until about 10:30 PM when I began having unbearable contractions. So I checked in to the hospital at about 10:30 PM.
They started me on Pitocin at about 12:30 AM and I received an epidural at about 3:00 AM. I labored all through the night, all through the day and they finally checked my cervix at 5:30 PM Saturday and said I was 9 cm dilated. I immediately felt the urge to push, my epidural had worn off and I was just in so much pain.
They brought the doctor in and I began to push at 6:00 PM. Baby girl was born at 6:51 PM on Saturday. It was a long, hard, painful labor and I would do it all over again. Once I held that sweet little body I was overwhelmed with so many emotions. It’s amazing what our bodies can do. Women are so incredible and I wouldn’t change a thing about my birthing experience because it was mine and I loved it.

I am now one week postpartum and sucking up all the cuddles with baby. I’m resting and nursing and loving taking care of this little human. But I can’t wait to add her to my routines and get back in the gym once I’m cleared to work out and go about my normal activities!
What were you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?
For 9 months I all I wanted to do was share kisses and hugs with my baby girl. When she was born I think I kissed her about 5000 times. Now we’re home and we love spending time rocking in her nursery and exchanging smiles to one another. She already has changed so much in this first week. I just can’t wait for what is ahead.

]]>Elisha Bakes Bump Story – Really Interesting 9 months pregnant Journey.
From dreaming about being pregnant before actually finding out she was pregnant, to keeping the sex of her baby a surprise until birth. New mama Elisha Bakes had a really interesting 9-month pregnancy journey! She shares some of those moments with us in her bump story. Enjoy!
…

What was your first reaction when you found out you were pregnant?
It was a crazy surprise. I had a dream that I was pregnant and then when I was late I decided to take a test straight away. Seeing the positive result I felt so many mixed feelings, I was in shock and super excited at the same time. I told my partner straight away and he was so thrilled which makes it so much more special. The next day I had a blood test to confirm and after that it felt so much more real hearing “you’re pregnant” from a doctor.
Your funniest memory over the 9 months?
Hormones can do the craziest things to us women! Luckily I don’t think that I had too many crazy moments but I would get ridiculously emotional over movies, TV shows, YouTube videos etc. My partner would come in the room and see I’ve been crying just to find out it’s over a movie I’ve seen a hundred times or a proposal video on YouTube!

How would you describe the 9-month journey?
Second trimester was bliss for me! I felt that I had so much energy plus had a great appetite and enjoyed every moment. I struggled the most with the end of the third trimester after 35 weeks. I had really bad pains where my baby’s head was trying to push down tearing ligaments and I was just so uncomfortable carrying around this big bump. Sleeping, driving, putting on shoes, walking for long periods were all very difficult…the simple things in life you take for granted!
Did you have any maternity wear hacks?
I wanted to make sure that I still dressed like me and kept the same style. Being pregnant over summer made it easy too, as all I wore was dresses and skirts. It was more flattering for me to wear tight clothing and complimented my bump! At home I would always be in a crop top and track pants. Having a good pair of maternity leggings and some slides were my must haves!
Did you have any weird and wonderful cravings?
I craved fruit all the time from the very beginning to the end of my pregnancy. Nothing would make me happier than a big bowl of cut up watermelon and strawberries.
What did you struggle with most being pregnant?
Once I hit 37 weeks I became quite anxious just not knowing when I was going to pop! My baby came at 40 weeks + 6 days and everyday until then I would wake up wondering if today would be the day I get to meet my baby.

Any tricks and tips that made your pregnancy journey easier?
I drank a lot of water [2.5-3L a day]. I was very lucky as I didn’t get any stretch marks and I believe this helped with my skin elasticity. It also got me ready for breastfeeding as I was so used to already drinking so much water. I also would make sure that on weekends [usually Sunday] I would have a total chill out day where I would sleep and rest as much as I could. This would help me re-energise for the working week ahead.
How was your birth experience?
It was very long! I started having contractions midnight Saturday and stayed at home all day Sunday with them increasing every hour. It was such a long day and I couldn’t sleep because of the pain. When my contractions were 6 minutes apart my waters broke which was early Monday morning and we arrived at the hospital at 6:30am. 23 hours later I had my son via emergency c-section after trying everything and giving it as much time as possible. It was such a long, tiring couple of days. I had my partner by my side the whole time which made the experience a lot easier, he was able to take my mind off the pain and my mum was also there which was another blessing. I couldn’t have done it without them – having a solid support system is so important.
My partner and I didn’t know the sex of our baby. I had requested when I got into theater that they don’t tell me what it was as I really wanted my partner to be the one to tell me what we had. Hearing him say “we had a boy” and seeing my son for the first time was the most special moment of my life and I wish I could just keep reliving over.

What helped you get your groove back after being pregnant?
After having a c-section recovery is quite slow and you’re generally stuck indoors especially the first couple of weeks. I liked to make sure that I got dressed everyday and made myself look presentable…I had my days where I stayed in my pajamas all day too! I think you just need to do whatever makes you feel like “you”. I tend to have the longest showers possible…it’s the best escape!
What were you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?
All the cuddles I want and sharing our life with him. I can’t wait to travel with him and be there to experience all of his “firsts” from first steps, first words, first swim…it’s all going to be so special!

]]>Omobolade Morayolebi Osinfade Bump Story.
New mama to a baby boy Omobolade Morayolebi Osinfade. Particularly, who welcomed her adorable bud this past March, took time to share some of her pregnancy highs and lows with us in her bump story! Enjoy

Generally, it was Epic! I never miss my cycle, and it was now a day late so I immediately took a stripe test, and was super excited to see a positive result. Well, I still went for a blood test to confirm it, and then I made it as a surprise for my husband.
For instance, my funniest memories were the weird cravings. Besides, you wouldn’t believe what I craved for! Also, I tried predicting the sex via the Chinese calendar on the internet before going to the hospital to actually find out the sex of our baby. For me, pregnancy brain was incredibly real, I had a few hilarious instances. Also, I attended Lamaze Classes, and that was fun too!

My easiest trimester was the third as I was more hyperactive and of course, I was nearing the end so was really looking forward to meeting my adorable bud. Moreover, I had a difficult first trimester, morning sickness was awful and I was constantly tired.
Comfort is key during pregnancy, so dress as comfortably as you can. Not shabby but super comfortable!

It was actually a combination of weird and wonderful. From KFC daily to party jollof rice, at a point, it was strictly bread or noodles and eggs. I had little or no cravings in my third trimester so I was able to stick to a healthy diet.
I struggled with heart burns a lot, it was so bad that I spent so many nights trying to sleep by sitting up, I just couldn’t lay down.
My birth experience was AMAZING! I was watching movies and eating Chinese rice and pizza I didn’t even know I was contracting till later that night. In 3 pushes my baby boy came out! I thank God it was very smooth labor and delivery.

Overly excited! I couldn’t believe it. My husband read the pregnancy test because I was too scared to look (LOL), then he said with so much joy “we’re gonna be parents”! I still couldn’t believe it and then he said “yeah baby you’re a mother now” and I then jumped on him, while laughing and screaming thank you, God! I couldn’t help but shed a tear.

There were so many funny and beautiful moments. My husband and I were thrilled that whenever we rubbed my belly, our baby girl responded by kicking back! She never responded to touch from anyone else. t was such a beautiful way to bond with our baby.

I tried hard not to give in to my pregnancy food cravings. I never liked chocolate pre-pregnancy (yes I’m one of the few women that don’t.. LOL) but now I like brownies and white chocolate with nuts. Although all through pregnancy I had like five brownies in all.

]]>My Bump Style: Feminine, Elegant, and Dynamic -Yuki Akinosho.
Mom of two and fashion lover, Yuki Akinosho who welcomed her second baby this past April, had fun styling her bump! She walks us through her pregnancy wardrobe trimester by trimester. Enjoy!
…
My pregnancy style was an extension of my usual style: feminine, elegant and dynamic. For most of my first trimester, my regular clothes complemented my bump.

By the second trimester, I started noticing that regular clothes were not fitting right and as this was my second pregnancy I started adding more maternity outfit from my previous pregnancy. For example, I started to wear maternity jeans, leggings, trousers and the likes. However, I continued to wear other garments that weren’t strictly maternity but that were suitable for my bump.

As my bump grew bigger I generally just transitioned the wardrobe from my previous pregnancy through my third trimester.
My style tip for pregnant mamas would be: be realistic as to what to wear, wear what suits you and works with your bump. You could buy non-maternity pieces, just be sure its a size bigger and it is something you are comfortable in.

]]>Whether you are going by car, bus, train, or by air, remember these Pregnancy Travel Tips. it is generally safe to travel while you are pregnant. Ideally, the second trimester is usually the best time to travel as in most cases, you are past the morning sickness of the first trimester and several weeks from the third stage of pregnancy when you are more easily fatigued.
Here are some helpful tips for traveling while pregnant:
Make sure that your OB or midwife is comfortable with you traveling; this is especially true if you are having a complicated or high-risk pregnancy. If traveling by air, some airline also requires a note from your healthcare practitioner that states your due date and the fact that you have a clearance to fly.
Book an aisle seat, so it’s easy to get up to go to the bathroom and walk around when you need to.If you have trouble with nausea related to motion or pregnancy, talk to your doctor about prescribing an anti-nausea medication to have on-hand. There are several that are safe to take during pregnancy.
Get up and move around as often as you can to prevent developing blood clots. if driving, make frequent stops and stretch your legs. Ask your healthcare practitioner if you could wear a compression socks
Drink plenty of water both to stay hydrated and to force yourself to get up often to use the bathroom.
Loose cotton tunic or shirt with a lightweight wool cardigan and comfortable shoes
Pack healthy snacks, it is important to make sure you have nutritious, protein-packed snacks to keep you going. When you eat fruits and vegetables, wash them well, and make sure that the water is potable. Be sure to cook meat, poultry, eggs, and seafood thoroughly.
Remember to keep prenatal vitamins and any medications that are specific to your health needs, handy. You also need to be wary of taking medications of any kind, including those commonly used to treat traveler’s diarrhea.
Seek medical attention immediately if you develop any of the following symptoms while traveling: persistent vomiting and/or diarrhea, dehydration, vaginal bleeding, passing tissue or clots, abdominal pain or cramps, contractions, if your water breaks, excessive leg swelling or pain, severe headaches or visual problems.
If you feel weak and dizzy, light-headed or even slightly nauseous, it may be a sign that you are overheating; so remember to bring down your temperature by using a fan, placing a cool, wet cloth on your forehead and the back of your neck, or running cool water over your wrists.
Pregnancy puts a strain on the circulation in your lower limbs so in order to avoid getting swollen feet and ankles or varicose veins, remember to rest your feet on your carry-on luggage under the seat in front of you.
