Awe-Inspiring! Woman With Cerebral Palsy Welcomes Baby:
How a Woman With Cerebral Palsy gives birth to a Baby. Inspiring story.
“We need to make a decision if you really want to keep her. Because, if she’s alive she will remain a vegetable. Also, she would have machines to keep her alive and we recommend that you terminate her life”. Those were the words of the doctor to Cassi’s parents.
Born 10 weeks early to Scott and Lisa Baird, Cassandra Baird know as Cassi had lots of complications at birth. This includes underdeveloped lungs and not enough oxygen to her brain. Because of these complications, Cassi developed cerebral palsy.
While in some people, cerebral palsy affects them physically and mentally. Luckily for Cassi, it just causes her to walk a little differently and fall down a lot. “Getting teased and being made fun of, affects me emotionally, but mentally my brain functions fine,” Cassi said.

Cassi’s best friend and maternity photographer, Julie Burr who has been best friends with Cassi since 2nd grade had this to say about Cassi’s positive outlook “growing up with cerebral palsy weren’t easy but she sure made it look easy”.
Moreover, speaking to PregnancyBeyond, Julie duly appreciated her childhood friend “Cassi has far surpassed everything anyone ever told her she would be able to do-plus some. She is one of the most amazing women I know and definitely one of the strongest.”
Excited to take the perfect maternity photos, Julie stated that the session with Cassi was “fun and easy”. “I had a vision in mind of what I wanted out of the images before we started”.
“She is so easy to work with so I explained what I had in mind and we made it happen. We were both happy with the results!” Julie tells PregnancyBeyond
Photos from the shoot showed Cassi cradling her baby bump and for the newborn shoot. Cassi can be seen cradling her newborn girl.
It certainly was adorable maternity and newborn photoshoot.
Spreading a message of hope, Cassi believes that God gives us all challenges and disabilities. It is how we learn to deal with them that defines us as a person. “I strongly believe that we are capable of doing anything we want in life and living with the challenges we are given, as long as we at least try, have faith in ourselves, and have a positive attitude,” the new mom said.
