Dear Daughter:
Dear Daughter – Heart Touching Poem:
Dear Daughter,
With each passing month, the love grows stronger.
And so does the bump and the aches too.
But I never felt a comforting discomfort before you.
I am comforted by your dependency on me.
For trusting me
For choosing me
They say that words are the depository of wisdom and so this is an early gift
From me to you
Let them resonate with you always…
People will cloud your vision with discouragement
But plow through their lies.
Often, people plant seeds of doubt in one’s mind to stem the growth of greatness.
With every kick, I know you’re going to be strong.
Challenge your anxious thoughts when they creep in.
More than your mother, I am your soul mate.
A shoulder to lean on
A listening ear always
A million ‘thank-yous’ aren’t enough to show my gratitude for you being my seed.
I may not supply all your wants, but I will definitely meet your needs.
The disproportionate expectations of women may leave you confused.
But be submissive only to your hearts desires
And question everything
It will be a lie to tell you that all will be smooth-sailing.
But every ship will eventually sail.
I see your eyes dancing with all the love that’s coming your way.
Can’t wait to see you…
I hear your heartbeat, I feel you close.
Just a wonderful poem. Thank you for sharing. Poet: Christiana Ikwueto
